Fears vs. Dreams

Everybody has their own greatest fear these feelings that we have all experienced since our childhood and so on as we grow up. Admit it or not everybody keep on running from it simply because we don't know how to deal with it and yeah... I am no exception!

When I was in grade school my greatest fear was having a low self-esteem. Why? Because I was so anxious to make friends. I was so scared of other people or my classmates would probably make fun of me and its all because I felt i am different from them. I felt like intruder, I felt like outsider and alien.

While most of them were playing around the school ground, while some of them were laughing, enjoying each others' company and sharing homework, foods and everything. But me, I was there in the corner of a room, doing my own things all alone. But above all I was afraid of rejection.

Now that I grown up, every step in my way became more challenging. Life has been tough and difficult for quite times. My fears become physically and mentally aggressive . It gave me more dilemma, insecurities and reasons to hold back.

For the past 13 years of my life i never got the chance to show the world the real me, things that i can do for others. Abilities and hidden talents that can help me gain confidence and success in life. Until i realized that overcoming my fears can help me to move forward, until i realized i can do anything i want, until i learned what will make me happy, until i learned that writing is my greatest gift from God.

"how good you want to be"

As individuals, it’s really hard to comprehend our own personalities especially in today’s world. Undoubtedly, most of the time, we don’t know what we want to be when we grow up, why we are here, and what our goals and purpose in life are. At some point in our lives, we all have been experiencing anxiety and uncertainty about our identity and our role as human beings. Our true characters slowly fade away because we let other people control and manipulate us without realizing that we are almost losing ourselves heedlessly.

On the other hand, as we grow up, we meet different people from low and high in the society. We encounter a bunch of challenging problems and happenings that help us in defining ourselves better. Ultimately, we look up to people who keep on inspiring us in exceptional ways so we tend to follow their footsteps. This is true because of the fact that we want to be like them and we want to feel appreciated in the society just like them. With this, you have to ask yourself two things: is that what you really want to be or do you just wanna be a mere copy of somebody else? Seriously, there is a big difference when we say “I wanna be like him” and “This is what I want to be.”
